You’ll check-in to the Coral Sea Marina bright and early from 8:00am, ready to set sail at 9:30am. The first stop for the day is Langford Reef, a supreme snorkelling location nestled within the Whitsunday Islands. Rub shoulders with the diverse range of coral and marine life below. Spot giant clams, green sea turtles, colourful moon wrasse, eels, manta rays and more as you explore the underwater paradise. After your exciting morning, you’ll sail to Stonehaven Bay, off Hook Island where you’ll settle for the afternoon and spend the night. Opt for another snorkel and search for more friendly sea turtles, unwind with a drink on board and get to know your fellow travellers or ask the crew questions about the surrounding islands.
Day two will see you rising with the sun and setting sail for Tongue Bay, off Whitsunday Island. Why not help the crew out with the sails and gain some sailing experience while you harness the power of the wind on your way there? Tongue Bay is where you’ll step off the boat and make way for the world-renowned Whitehaven Beach! With 7 kilometres of sparkling white silica sands to explore, you’ll understand why Whitehaven is listed as one of the best beaches in the world!
Take a short hike up to Hill Inlet Lookout and admire the swirling sands and waters from above, laze about and get your tan on in the soft sands or swim with the lemon sharks and baby stingrays in the crystal clear waters! After hours of exploration, hop aboard Apollo and set sail for another cosy anchorage where you’ll spend your night. Have an evening of socialising and fun, play games with your new friends and watch the spectacular sunset!
There’s no better way to start your day than by watching the sun rise over the ocean, so be sure to catch the sunrise on your final day aboard Apollo. You’ll have one last snorkel opportunity so dive in and explore some of the planet’s most beloved coral reefs! Keep a keen eye out for more turtles, reef sharks, manta rays and even dugongs. On your journey back to Airlie Beach, you might have the chance to visit the Ngaro Cultural Site at Nara Inlet on Hook Island. The Ngaro site is home to ancient Indigenous cave paintings and sacred stories, which make for an enchanting visit! You’ll arrive in Airlie mid-afternoon where you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your evening back on land.
